The theory behind a Pucksack is simple: Babies love sking contatct. They've been naked for 9 months and aren't used to fabric, yet. But just keeing your baby naked might be too much freedom, which they aren't used to, and temperatures might not allow it, either. This is where a Pucksack comes in handy: dress your baby in a onesie, with no pants or socks, and instead put her in a Pucksack. The ribbing is keeping the pucksack nice and snug, but not tight around baby's chest. The bag allows for a somewhat confined movement of the legs, just like babies were used to in mommies tummy. Since they are not wearing any pants, they can feel their naked legs rubbing against one another, which has a calming effect on babies from newborn to about 6 months old.

My Pucksacks come in many different varieties, but the overall idea is always the same. I use two layers of fabric along with a ribbing in a coordinated color. The fabric layers vary by model. Some are both thin cotton jersey for a Pucksack that is more appropriate for the summer, others have jersey on the inside and a non-stretchable cotton fabric on the outside, giving a little less room for movement.
They are all about 19-20 inches long, and fit a chest from about 13 inches to 24 inches. The ribbing can we used folded over like you see in the pictures, or single layered.
The winter models have terry cloth or flannel on the inside, and a decorative cotton or jersey fabric on the outside. As with everything I make, look at the items currently available, but if you have certain fabrics, colors, patterns, etc in mind, don't hesitate to contact me.
